As part of our spam protection measures on the Roundcube mail server, we use a Realtime Greylist (RGL) service to identify and block emails from suspected spammers. This system checks the sender's IP against multiple DNS-based email greylists, often referred to as Realtime Greylist, DNSGL, or RGL.
Why Disable Greylist Protection?
Occasionally, you might not receive emails from some of your contacts because their sender IP addresses have been greylisted. This results in the sender receiving a notice that their email has bounced. Unfortunately, it is not possible to whitelist specific sender IPs. If you wish to accept emails from such senders, you can disable greylist protection for individual mailboxes from the Email Accounts section in your hosting control panel.
Steps to Disable Greylist Protection:
-
Access Your Hosting Control Panel:
- Log in to your hosting control panel where your email accounts are managed.
-
Locate the Mailbox:
- Find the mailbox for which you want to disable greylist protection.
-
Disable Greylist Protection:
- Under the Actions column next to your mailbox, look for a list-like green icon.
- Click on this icon, and it will turn red, indicating that the greylist protection has been disabled for that mailbox.
Important Note:
Disabling greylist protection may increase the amount of spam received in your mailbox. Consider the potential increase in spam before deciding to disable this feature.
By following these steps, you can manage your email settings effectively and ensure you receive important emails without unnecessary interruptions.
